After months of speculation, Mariah Carey has finally confirmed that she and husband Nick Cannon are expecting a baby, she revealed on the "Today" show Thursday.
"Yes, we are pregnant. It is true," she said. "It's been a long journey. It's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy."
Carey and Cannon said the baby is due in the spring, but they have no plans to find out the gender before it's born.
Leading up to the reveal, friends and family had reportedly been trying hard to keep Mariah Carey’s possible pregnancy a secret, but some were doing better than others.
While promoting her new film, “For Colored Girls,” on “the View,” actress Thandie Newton was asked why she thinks she took over Carey’s role in the film, to which she replied, “I think she is pregnant.”
