Marlies forward added to AHL all-star team

TORONTO – Toronto Marlies forward Ryan Hamilton has been added to the Western Conference squad for the AHL all-star game Jan. 30 in Atlantic City.

Toronto’s Joe Colborne and Nazem Kadri were also chosen but will not take part.

Defenceman Frederic St. Denis will represent the Hamilton Bulldogs on the West side, along with defenceman Clay Wilson and forward Jon Matsumoto of the Abbotsford Heat.

Defencemen Paul Postma and Zach Redmond of the St. John’s IceCaps are on the Eastern team.

St. John’s Keith McCambridge and Oklahoma City’s Todd Nelson will coach the Eastern and Western Conference all-stars, respectively, after their teams finished play Jan. 1 with the best records in their conferences.

Other additions to the roster are Bridgeport Sound Tigers forward Casey Cizikas and Albany Devils defenceman Alexander Urbom for the East.

West additions are Lake Erie Monsters defenceman Tyson Barrie, Peoria Rivermen goaltender Ben Bishop, Rockford IceHogs defenceman Brian Connelly, Rochester Americans forward Zack Kassian, Oklahoma City Barons forward Ryan Keller and Charlotte Checkers forward Chris Terry.
