A political campaign is a bit like sending a rocket into outer space, says mayoral candidate Charlie Taylor.
Over the past seven months, he’s been building his platform and fine-tuning his message.
“Now we’re actually ready for blast off,” he said about his official campaign launch at the Rainbow Club on Thursday evening.
“The deciding factor on whether this takes off or fizzles and pops is whether we get the electorate motivated and behind the campaign.”
Taylor said voter apathy is huge issue for challengers. Because there are 17 mayoral candidates, it is difficult to get people to even look at your platform if you’re not already well-established, he said.
