Metro Calgary’s on the rise

With fall in full swing and temperatures cooling down, Metro Calgary continues to heat up and gain momentum as the fastest growing newspaper in Calgary — and in Canada.

Metro Calgary now reaches 81,100 daily and 197,300 weekly readers throughout the greater Calgary area, according to 2009-2010 information released by NADbank yesterday.

In comparison to NADbank 2008-09, Metro Calgary saw a 39 per cent increase in daily readership — or 22,700 readers — and a 34 per cent increase (33,500) in weekly readers.

“The growth we have seen in Alberta over the past three years has been nothing short of extraordinary, but the latest reporting period has given us reason to celebrate,” said Metro Alberta publisher Steve Shrout.

“With more than 80,000 young, vibrant and affluent readers in Calgary, it’s clear Calgarians are making Metro part of their daily routines.

“I want to express my appreciation to ... our readers for making us the fastest-growing newspaper in Canada.”
