If you’re looking for a way to enjoy winter outdoors, you’ll be happy to know that skating season is finally here.
Victoria Park Skating Oval opened last week, while Castledowns had skaters for the first time on Saturday. Jackie Parker is slated to open soon, along with many other rinks throughout the city that are prepared on solid ground.
The first freeze in mid-November generally puts things on track for hard surface rinks to open in early December.
Open water rinks can take a bit longer, especially larger ponds such as the ones in Hawrelak or Rundle parks.
