A unique steel sculpture has been unveiled on the boardwalk at Alderney Landing.

Dartmouth Artist Barbara Schmeisser crafted the steel and powder-coated sculpture as a salute to the Canadian Navy’s 100th anniversary.

You’ll find a visual record of marine objects in the sculpture including the Naval Crown, a ship’s bell, and binoculars.

Schmeisser graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and her work appears in several collections throughout the U.K., U.S. and Canada.

The sculpture will be on display at Alderney Landing for the rest of the summer.
