Blueberry festivals around the province are uniting. The first Wild Blueberry Harvest Festival is underway in several communities throughout central Nova Scotia, including Truro, Parrsboro and the Stewiacke Valley.

Concerts, pie eating contests, bouncy houses, blueberry dessert parties, and quilt shows are just some of the events planned for the festival, which runs until Saturday.

Today, there are bazaars in Glooscap and Five Islands, as well as a fresh wild blueberry cleaning and packing operation tour in Masstown, a U-pick in Musquodoboit, and the Cumberland County Exhibition in Oxford.
