Strolling down 4 Street? Take a minute to enjoy what one resident called “the best park in the Beltline.”
Central Memorial Park, located just behind Memorial Library, is an ideal place to relax after the workday. Take in the water fountains, the flowers, the trees — and some history, too.
There are at least 10 different monuments to look for, according to Cynthia Klaassen of the Calgary Heritage Initiative.
The elevation marker for the city of Calgary also sits in the park: The survey pin is just east of the fountain closest to the library, between two benches, said Klaassen.
