Dr. Anthony Phillips, founding director of the University of British Columbia’s Institute of Mental Health, will deliver the 2010 Gerhard Herzberg Lecture at Carleton tonight.
His lecture, entitled The Dynamic Brain: Adaptation, Changing Environments And Life Circumstances, will describe newly discovered processes that enable the brain to change itself and how these adaptations have both beneficial and adverse consequences on health and disease.
The lecture is free and runs from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bell Theatre in the 2000 Minto Centre and will be followed by a reception.
