Take a minute and feel the spirit of Robbie Burns and everything Scottish this weekend at this year’s Highland Games Saturday at Springbank Park for All Seasons.

Introduced by Malcolm III (1059-1093) in Scotland, the games were used to select the strongest warriors.

Created here in 1913 and called the Caledonian Games, the day brings together many people of Scottish decent, and shares the Scottish heritage with the Calgary community.

Events include heavy lifting, pipes and drums, and highland dancing to celebrate Calgary’s Scottish heritage.
