Self-proclaimed as “maybe the best little ice cream shop in the world,” Piccolo Grande, tucked in the middle of the ByWard Market on Murray Street, offers gelato, sherbet, sorbet, coffee, and chocolate. But the thing you really want to get is the gelato.
While top flavours include amaretto, bacio, chocolate caramel, nutmeg, chocolate mint and tiramisu, there are dozens of flavours you can try.
And people who are watching their weight don’t have to here — gelato has the same rich texture as ice cream, with up to two-thirds less the fat. Maybe this really is the best little ice cream shop in the world.
