Get to know a few of the candidates running in this year’s municipal election by attending a councillor and mayoral debate tonight at city hall.
The theme for the debate centres on the concept of No New Money, which means the cost of new initiatives is covered by an equivalent cut in existing services or administration costs. Only a random sampling of council candidates will be present, but most of the 20 mayoral candidates are expected to attend.
There will be two rounds of council debates at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and then mayoral candidates will speak at 7:30 p.m.
