Visit the official residence and workplace of Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean.

Rideau Hall, the home of every governor general since 1867, is the only official residence open to the public. The residence, which has seen almost every prime minister and cabinet member sworn in since that date, also hosts foreign dignitaries, houses rooms for State functions, offices, other work spaces and a greenhouse run by the National Capital Commission.

Rideau Hall is open to the public for tours year round. While you’re there, check out the current temporary exhibit, DIASPORArt, on display until next month.
