Metro Minute at Snakes and Lattes

There was a time in the not-too-distant past when the word “gamer” had nothing to do with technology, and the only risk of carpal tunnel syndrome came from over-counting your Monopoly money.

If you just shed a tear of nostalgia, the brand new Snakes and Lattes at 600 Bloor St. W., is basically your caffeinated version of heaven. The small Mirvish Village café is home to a library of 1,700 board games stacked floor to ceiling. For a nominal $5 fee, guests get unlimited access to the entire collection of both brand new and vintage boards. Doors open at 11 a.m., and don’t close until your last battleship has been sunk.
