Metro Minute at the Revue Cinema

TIFF fever starts tomorrow, and with all the lip flapping about premieres, parties and celebrity stakeouts, it’s easy to forget what the festival is about: The love of cinema. Lucky for us, Toronto boasts an impressive number of independent movie theatres that can take you far from the maddening crowd. Slip away from the lines and into the comfy seats at Roncesvalles’ Revue Cinema. The Revue was saved a few years back after the community rallied to make it a not-for-profit run by a local film society. Now it boasts cheap tickets, a mammoth screen, anti-blockbusters, historic digs, and best of all? Popcorn with real butter.
