Metro Minute in The Abyss

The Canadian Museum of Nature has welcomed a travelling exhibition to unravel the mysteries of the deep sea. The Abyss: Life In The Deep Sea, which opened last weekend, plunges visitors into the darkest, deepest parts of the ocean and features images, audiovisuals, panel texts, interactive animation and specimens that tell the story of this unique ecosystem. The exhibit also features replicas of deep-sea diving apparatuses, including a 1690 diving bell that enabled five men to venture 18 metres deep into the Thames River for one hour, and a dirigible-like contraption called a bathyscaphe that enabled people to dive 4,000 metres underwater by 1948.
