It used to be known as the area where the homeless and panhandlers would gather, and the spot where a young man was stabbed to death in 2006. But since the Rideau BIA and the City of Ottawa transformed it into a congregation spot for local artsy types last year, the Underpass has become a mecca for artists, artisans, performers and musicians.
Grab a coffee or a hotdog from an area vendor and head over to catch some shade while perusing locally made jewelry, listen to some tunes, and enjoy prints by local artists on display.
