It’s likely you’ve seen a dedication bench in Calgary — there are more than 800 of them — but have you enjoyed a sit-down on one lately?
These benches are special: They celebrate newborns, graduates, wedded couples, parents, families, and the memories of loved ones who have passed on.
“We are very proud of our Bench Dedication Program which has been well subscribed to and appreciated by the Calgary Community,” says the Parks Foundation’s Myrna Dubé.
The Program, which began in 1991, is expanding to Nose Hill Park, according to Dubé. Newly designed benches will be available for purchase in the Fall.
