Metro Minute on Bathurst Street

If Dickens were still alive, he’d call it the ghost of streetcars past. Since he’s not, he can commence his proverbial grave-roll over the abuse of his genius to describe tracks along Bathurst Street that run northbound to nowhere.

The tracks once enjoyed a long, fruitful life transporting TTC riders all the way up to St. Clair Avenue.

When Bloor station opened in 1966, the tracks still ran streetcars from the historic Wychwood carhouse along Bathurst. After the carhouse closed in 1978, so did the route.

As the St. Clair line has managed to avoid a similar fate, the tracks have remained in the event of an eventual resurrection.
