Forget hockey, what about the 18th-century game of quoits? It’s one of the activities planned for the McNabs Island Picnic on Saturday. The Friends of McNabs are holding a 20th anniversary party, which coincides with Canada’s Parks Day.

There will be ghost stories, music, a scavenger hunt and games for the kids, geocaching, nature walks and tours.

The Friends are also commemorating the Sisters of Charity who did tremendous work on the island in the 19th century.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for kids under 16. Ferries will leave Murphy’s on the Water starting at 9:30 a.m. and the last returning ferry is at 5:30 p.m.
