If you think the ride across the harbour needs a little culture, you’ll get it today if you’re on the ferry between 3 and 4 p.m.
HRM’s poet laureate Shauntay Grant is getting involved in a first-of-its-kind event for poets laureate called Free Verse. Eight visiting poets representing cities across the country — including Edmonton and Vancouver — are in town to participate in a number of events. Poets and a saxophone player will regale commuters on today’s 3:15 p.m. ferry leaving Halifax for Dartmouth.
From there the poets will head to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for several events tonight, including a reading of artwork-inspired poetry.
