Metro Minute with Annabel Lyon

Meet the woman who brought us the book that B.C. Ferries removed from its gift shop shelves this summer because of its cover.

The Vancouver Public Library introduces acclaimed short story writer Annabel Lyon, reading from her debut novel, The Golden Mean.

The novel tells the story of Alexander the Great as a violent and passionate boy. The philosopher Aristotle, a cold, rational intellectual, becomes his mentor and the two personalities collide.

Lyon will start the reading at 7 p.m. at the library’s central branch at 350 West Georgia St., in the Alma VanDusen Room, free.
