A church organ, antique doors, church pews and other objects typically found in a cathedral will be the subject of an art exhibition beginning Saturday at Saint Mary’s University Art Gallery.

Local artist Scott Saunders used artifacts salvaged from Halifax’s former Free Mason’s Hall to create Grand Lodge, an architectural “ruined environment” that is sectioned into interconnecting rooms.

Saunders, a 2008 graduate of Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, will call Grand Lodge his first solo exhibition in a public gallery. Grand Lodge runs from Aug. 28 through Oct. 3, and will have a public reception Sept. 10 at 8 p.m.
