A new play at Neptune’s Studio Theatre is set into four parts like a piece of classical music.

Fathers & Sons tells the story of a family through the years.

“The play grew out of a desire to write about family — to explore what I think is the deepest, most poignant and primal of our relationships,” said Don Hannah, award-winning Maritime author in a release.

“So much of my writing — both novels and plays — comes out of my childhood in New Brunswick and my life in Nova Scotia.”

The play started yesterday, but the official opening night is Thursday.
