Many Canadian troops won’t be home for the holidays, but Edmontonians have an opportunity to send a taste of home to them in Afghanistan.
Today, near Sears in the West Edmonton Mall, a banner will be unveiled for people to sign.
The initiative is part of Sears Operation Personnel and Family Support Services, which has a goal of connecting Canadian troops with their families, as well as the general public, during the holiday season.
The banner will be unveiled at 12:30 p.m. and will remain posted until Dec. 8. A website will also be released where video messages can be posted for deployed troops.
