Give your TV a break tonight and head to Granville Island for an evening of drumming and dance — all in support of education projects in Africa. The fundraiser features a special performance by dance group Jacky Essombe Village, headed by Cameroon-born, Vancouver-based dancer and radio host Jacky Essombe.
African Nights Vancouver runs from 7-10 p.m., and includes food and a silent auction. Sponsors include Rose Charities Canada, Stand Tall Education and ASOLATE — the Association For Youth Literacy And Trades Education. Tickets are $25 for students and $30 for adults.
