Ottawa-based artist and aerial photographer Louis Helbig will discuss his latest work, entitled Beautiful Destruction: Alberta Tar Sands Aerial Photographs at the RA Photo Club at 7:30 p.m. today.
Originally photographed in August 2008, images from this project are now being exhibited and published internationally, as well as being sold as limited edition prints. More than 10,000 people saw the exhibit when it ran at the Ottawa City Hall Public Gallery this summer.
Helbig will discuss different aspects of Beautiful Destruction, ranging from the creative to the political.
