On your noontime stroll or while wandering downtown, take a minute to check out a photo exhibit on the history and accomplishments of the Canadian Navy at one of the capital’s busiest pedestrian corridors. The exhibit, on the Plaza Bridge in Confederation Square, entitled On Guard From Sea To Sea, features dozens of large panels featuring photos from the Canadian Navy’s 100-year history.

 

May 4, 1910, is the date that royal assent was given to the Naval Service Act, thereby establishing the Department of Naval Service. Official naval centennial events are planned across the country throughout the year.
