Metro Minute with Unknown Soldier

Visit the sentries at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial. The sentries, who are present from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at Confederation Square at Elgin and Wellington streets through the end of August, can also be seen at the Guard Mount Ceremony on Parliament Hill at 10 a.m. daily, and at Rideau Hall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ottawa’s most recognized military tradition, the Guard Mount — a must-see for all visitors to the National Capital Region — is composed of more than 400 regular and reserve soldiers and represent more than 35,000 soldiers of the Canadian Forces.
