Metro Canada’s position as the country’s most-read and fastest growing national daily newspaper was confirmed by the 2009-10 NADbank readership survey released yesterday.

Across Canada, Metro is now read by 1.4 million daily readers and 2.9 million people every week.

In Vancouver, Metro has more than 180,000 daily and 436,000 weekly readers.

Maryse Lalonde, Metro Vancouver Publisher, said she’s happy to see Metro maintain its readership level when compared to NADbank 2008-09.

“I’m especially thrilled to have gained so much traction in our key demographic of readers aged 18 to 49,” she said.

“We saw an 11 per cent increase while all other newspapers in this market lost ground.”
