Metro's 7th Heaven: November 19 - 21

Metro editors pick their faves this week.

Boy band bonanza
It will be an epic pairing on the weekend, as two of the best-selling boy bands of all time join forces for a melodic moment at the American Music Awards. The Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block will close the broadcast with a musical mash-up.

The Expendables
It’s like you died and went to action-hero heaven. The Expendables — with a muscled-up lineup that includes Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgre, Steve Austin and others — is available on DVD and Blu-ray next week.

Harry Potter
The newest installment of the Harry Potter franchise is now in theatres, and part two is due out next year. So we decided to do the math to see how much the whole series – books and merchandising have made to date. Our estimate: $24 billion.

iPod Nano
Looking for a gift for that special someone in your life? It may not sound romantic, but the iPod Nano is new and improved, and now with a touch screen. To make it a little more personal, why not fill it with all your loved one’s favourite songs before wrapping it?

The Little Prince
His name is the Little Prince, and he comes from outer space, and now fans of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s extraterrestrial visitor can enjoy the adventure in a pop-up version of the book. anthropologie.com

Boutiques.com
If you’d love being a fly on the wall during your favourite celebrity’s shopping spree, than bookmark Boutiques.com. Earlier this week, Google launched the online shopping platform, where readers and (most notably) celebrities, designers, retailers and fashion bloggers, curate their own little shops with items on their wish lists.

Stay warm
There is no denying it; fall is well into its middle-age and winter is beginning to nip on its heels. But let’s face it; who doesn’t like wearing thick sweaters once that cold wind blows? There’s no better time than now to invest in a warm, wooly one to keep that bone-chilling cold at bay.
