Weekend closures of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge this summer are causing Metro Transit to detour some of its routes.
The Macdonald Bridge is under going resurfacing to the approach spans, which is resulting in lane closures on weekday evenings from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and a full shutdown of the bridge on most weekends in July and August.

The first bridge closure runs this weekend from Friday at 7 p.m. to Monday at 5:30 a.m.
Bus routes No. 1 (Spring Garden), No. 10 (Dalhousie/Westphal), No. 52 (Crosstown), No. 61 (Auburn/North Preston) and No. 159 (Portland Hills Link) will each face detours to and from Halifax.
For information on how the detour will affect each route, visit www.halifax.ca/metrotransit/detours.
The only exception to the weekend bridge closures is July 18 and 19 to accommodate the KISS concert and tall ships festival and August 1 and 2 for Natal Day celebrations. The work is expected to continue through Labour Day weekend.
Metro Transit is advising passengers to allow for extra time on their routes due to the detours.
