It wasn’t the official Stampede Parade but for these kids it was even better.

Hundreds of children, many of them patients at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, gathered with family and friends outside the facility for the 3rd annual Mini-Stampede Parade.

“It’s amazing for the kids and their parents and siblings who may not otherwise get to see the parade,” hospital VP Margaret Fullerton said. Elena, 5, and her mother Janice came to the parade with four-year-old Mateo, who is a sometime patient at the hospital — all for their very first time.

“My favourite was the fire trucks and the horses,” Mateo said.
