Missing mom spotted: RCMP

Recent sightings suggest that a missing Abbotsford mother of three is alive and possibly being held against her will, RCMP said yesterday.

Candace Shpeley, 26, has been seen at Price Mart Foods, Wal-Mart and downtown in Chilliwack, according to Cpl. Dale Carr.

“Our goal is obviously to bring her home to reunite her with her family,” Carr said. “Her family and her children want her home.”

Shpeley was last seen on March 30, 2007, and was reported missing on April 1, 2007.

Her vehicle was discovered abandoned in Vancouver near East 17th Avenue and Renfrew Street 10 days later.

Her father, Barry Shpeley, is asking anyone who has any information about his daughter to contact him or police.

“Nothing is more important to me than to get my daughter back,” he said. “I just want to know that she’s all right. We’re just worried for her safety.”

Barry Shpeley, who resides in Chilliwack, said he found it “hard to believe that (his) daughter would be in Chilliwack and not come knock on (his) door.”

“As a parent you try to figure out where your children are. She’ll always be my baby girl.”
