Two teenagers missing from Texas for more than a week have been located in Calgary, allegedly brandishing weapons in their pickup truck.

Insp. James Hardy said police were called to the Foothills Industrial Park after calls about a suspicious vehicle and authorities quickly learned the white pickup with Texas plates was linked to a missing 17-year-old male and 14-year-old female.

“It was a surprise, we didn’t even know ... these teens were missing and there was no indication they were heading north,” Hardy said.

Police discovered three loaded handguns and two rifles from the truck. The teens are reportedly co-operating with police as investigators work to determine how they entered the country.

Calgary police, Canada Border Services Agency and American authorities are working together.
