2010 Vancouver International Pride Tennis Tournament
Up to 100 players from across the U.S. and Canada are expected to compete in five competitive divisions in this year’s tournament. The event is at the Stanley Park Courts this Friday at 8 a.m., with proceeds going to Qmunity. July 30.
Sunset Beach Pride Festival
The fun starts at 11 a.m. this Sunday until 6 p.m. Entry is free and there’ll be 125 booths offering a variety of products and services. It also includes a beer garden for those 19+.
Pride Weekend Launch
The party starts at the J Lounge, at 1216 Bute Street, this Friday at noon. Meet the grand marshals, sign the Declaration of Montreal and send a supportive message to LGBT movements around the world. July 30.
TELUS Davie Street Dance Party
Performers at this 19+ event include Cassidy Haley, Luscious Moov, Joan-E, Sugarbeach and more. Tickets are $7 at the gate and it all starts at 7 p.m. July 30.
Brunch at The Boathouse
The Boathouse on English Bay is offering a special breakfast buffet. The restaurant also offers one of the best locations along the parade route for spectators. All-you-can-eat for $30 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, with reservations — 604-669-2225. Partial proceeds donated to the Pride Society. July 31.
More than 150 floats, marching bands and more are parading 20 blocks from Robson to Denman to Beach Avenue. Expect large crowds for this colourful event that starts at noon.
