Fringe Fest
“Are you satisfied with what you know?” an enigmatic encyclopedia saleswoman asks an unassuming bachelor in The Exquisite Hour. The Fringe Fest play is being performed all weekend, and was written by Winnipeg’s Stewart Lemoine, a festival favourite. Tickets at or at the Fringe Box Office.

Not able to make it down to the Gulf Coast, but still want to help clean the coast? Start closer to home by joining The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. Last year the effort removed nearly 161,000 kilograms of litter from Canada’s shorelines. To join, meet at the parking lot off of Whyte Street Saturday at 10 a.m.

Caffeinated Art
If art and caffeine are your thing, head down to That Barista Thing’s Latte Art Tournament. The competition starts Saturday morning at 11, and is being held at the Vancouver Library’s central branch.

Take part in kicking cancer’s butt by supporting the 30th annual Terry Fox Run: take part, donate, or cheer on participants. Or, if you’d like to help a variety of sick kids, take a hike up Grouse Mountain and raise money for the B.C. Children’s Hospital.
