Toronto's emergency services are going to see how they would fare in a situation much like when an airplane ditched into New York's Hudson River.

On Sunday at 9 a.m., the police marine unit will conduct a search-and-rescue exercise in Humber Bay south of the Toronto shoreline.

"The aim of the exercise is to examine the interoperability of emergency services in the event
of a commercial passenger aircraft ditching in Lake Ontario," police said in a release.

The exercise will last about two hours and involves Toronto Fire Services, the marine unit, Emergency Medical Services and the Toronto Island Ferry Services.
