Montreal cops pelted by rocks as they try to help attempted murder victim

MONTREAL – Montreal police say they had to stop helping an attempted murder victim when they were surrounded by a mob and pelted with rocks.

Police say officers and ambulance workers were delayed in treating the man until the mob had been controlled.

Officers were called to a report of a fight at a church hall early Sunday and found the victim lying on the sidewalk outside and bleeding.

A crowd appeared and started yelling and throwing rocks as ambulance technicians began to work on the man.

Police reinforcements quickly arrived to help control the crowd and shut down the party.

The victim is expected to survive.

Police have questioned two people but have not made any arrests.
