The Ottawa Police Guns and Gangs Unit seized two weapons and charged a 33-year-old Montreal man in relation to a search warrant conducted in the city’s south end Monday.
At about noon, police executed a search warrant at a home on Marlin Private as part of a continuing investigation. They seized a Mac 11 machine gun pistol with ammunition and a 38-calibre revolver with ammunition.
Police charged a Montreal man with 32 criminal offences including two counts of possession of a loaded regulated firearm, two counts of possessing a prohibited device, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a restricted weapon and aggravated assault.
James Golding appeared in court Monday and was remanded in custody until his next appearance Tuesday.
