Moore to call Mooseheads this year, despite job ad

The radio and online voice of the Halifax Mooseheads isn’t going anywhere.

News 95.7 has agreed in principle to a deal that will put John Moore behind the microphone for a 13th season, despite the fact the radio station posted a job online earlier this month offering a “rare opportunity to call play-by-play for the Halifax Mooseheads.”

“John’s coming back,” Mark Campbell, News 95.7 director of news and programming, told Metro yesterday. “We don’t have it signed yet but we’ve agreed in principle and we’re just getting the papers drawn up. At the time I posted the job, John wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to do the season or not.”

Moore did not respond to an email sent Monday asking about the situation.

The Mooseheads’ training camp starts next Wednesday. Their first pre-season game, against the Saint John Sea Dogs, is on Saturday, Aug. 21, in New Brunswick.
