Moose endure tough weekend

The Halifax Mooseheads have three games left to try to finish a record-worst season on a winning note.

The Halifax Mooseheads have three games left to try to finish a record-worst season on a winning note.

The Mooseheads lost their 10th straight game yesterday, falling 5-2 to the Saint John Sea Dogs — who clinched first overall with the victory — in New Brunswick. They were also thumped 8-1 by the host Bathurst Titan Friday night. Rookie defenceman Konrad Abeltshauser scored both goals in the Saint John loss and goalie Mathieu Corbeil made 33 saves.

The Mooseheads, 13-46-6, are already out of the playoffs and guaranteed to finish last. They are also guaranteed to post the lowest win and point totals in franchise history.

They visit Bathurst Thursday and Friday and wrap up the season Sunday against the Sea Dogs.
