Halifax Mooseheads forward Gabriel Desjardins didn’t make the cut for the Canadian under-18 men's hockey team yesterday.

The 22-man roster was announced for the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka tournament, which starts next Tuesady in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Four players from the QMJHL were selected to the squad.

Desjardins, a five-foot-11, 191-pound left-winger, had 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 60 games last season and was named the Mooseheads’ top rookie.

He will report to training camp at Cole Harbour Place starting Aug. 19.
