The Halifax Mooseheads have finally landed winger Martin Frk from the Czech Republic.

The Mooseheads announced Tuesday they have negotiated the release of the 16-year-old from the Czech club HC Karlovy Vary, two weeks after the International Ice Hockey Federation rejected his transfer.

Frk, who was drafted third overall in the Canadian Hockey League import draft in June, will join the Mooseheads immediately and practice with the team on Wednesday morning in Halifax.

The Mooseheads have compared Frk to Boston Bruins legend Cam Neely. The 5-foot-11, 184-pound winger had 57 points in 39 games at the Czech under-20 level last season.
