Mooseheads roster cut to 39 players

The Halifax Mooseheads’ pre-season roster is down to 39 players heading into a pair of weekend games.

The Mooseheads cut 19-year-old goaltender Justin Collier on Thursday, while tryouts Maxime Belanger and Jonathan Clarke left the team. At least 15 more cuts are expected by the time the team opens the regular season on Sept. 11.

It’s a home-and-home set for the Herd this weekend with a visit to the Moncton Wildcats on Friday at 7 p.m. and a rematch on Saturday at the Forum at the same time.

The Mooseheads are 1-1 so far in the pre-season.
