Mooseheads send affiliate player to Wildcats for pick in 2010 draft

The Halifax Mooseheads got in on the action as the QMJHL trade period opened on the weekend, dealing affiliate defenceman Alex MacDonald to the Moncton Wildcats.

The Mooseheads received a 12th-round pick in 2010 for the 18-year-old, who picked up an assist in five games this season before being reassigned to junior A Dieppe.

Other moves saw Dartmouth’s Christian Morin moved from Val-d’Or to the league-leading Saint John Sea Dogs for Benjamin Lecomte, while Halifax’s Bradley MacDonald went to P.E.I. from Victoriaville for Brandon Street.

Former Mooseheads forward Alexis Piette went from Lewiston to Chicoutimi as part of a four-player deal.
