More firebomb attacks hit city

A Mill Woods home was the target of two firebombs Sunday, launched brazenly from passing assailants in the same day.

The first series of Molotov cocktails were tossed into the front window of the home on 35 Street and 38A Avenue around 6 a.m.

Though the curtains in a front room caught fire, the residents inside the home were able to extinguish the flames before the fire spread, and before emergency crews arrived.

Around 8 p.m., another round of firebombs were aimed at the same home.

The garage was damaged in the second attack, and no injuries were sustained.

Police spokesman Jeff Wuite could not confirm if the bombs were connected to the string of Molotov cocktail attacks that area residents saw over the summer.

Police met with concerned community members and students from Mill Woods high schools in July to discuss the bombings.

Officers are currently investigating to determine whether the attacks are connected.
No arrests were made and no charges were laid in connection with any of the incidents.
