Metro Ottawa’s daily readership has gone up 22 per cent — or 14,900 readers — in the last year, according to NADbank 2009-10 readership results released yesterday.

Readership numbers also confirm that Metro Ottawa now reaches more than one in five Ottawans, or 82,800 daily and 205,800 weekly readers throughout the greater Ottawa area.

“Continuous innovation is the driving force behind Metro’s success,” said publisher Bill McDonald.

“New columnists, increased coverage of news that matters, enhanced distribution strategies and creative marketing initiatives have all played a role in Metro Ottawa’s growth.

“We fully anticipate continuous growth well into the future.”

Metro Ottawa has the No. 1 reach increase with adults aged 18 to 49 and adults aged 25 to 54, NADbank results show.
