More than 10 people have been killed in an attack on a Shi'ite mosque in Kuwait on Friday, the governor of Kuwait city Thabet al-Muhanna told Reuters.
Militant group Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to a statement posted on social media.
Speaking by telephone from Kuwait, Muhanna told Reuters that eight people were in critical condition. A witness said the bombing happened when the mosque was packed with some 2,000 worshippers during Friday prayers.
