Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Up two cents, or 0.70 per cent, at $2.89 on 10,878,527 shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 27 cents, or 1.65 per cent, at $16.68 on 6,064,809 shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC). Insurer. Down 10 cents, or 0.63 per cent, at $15.70 on 4,893,950 shares.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN). Miner. Up seven cents, or 1.79 per cent, at $3.98 on 4,403,334 shares. Second-quarter profits surged 74 per cent to US$75.6 million, aided by $27.9 million in net proceeds from the sale of its shares in Chariot Resources.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up 18 cents, or 0.43 per cent, at $41.62 on 3,946,328 shares. The global gold index closed ahead on the TSX, buoyed by a US$1.40 gain on the bullion. The September contract settled at $1,160.40 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Eastern Platinum Ltd. (TSX:ELR). Miner. Up a penny, or 0.97 per cent, at $1.04 on 3,917,823 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,410.62 up 4.34 points):

Canacol Energy Ltd. (TSXV:CNE). Mineral and oil and gas exploration. Up 10 cents, or 9.62 per cent, at $1.14 on 7,160,666 shares.

Journey Resources Corp. (TSXV:JNY). Mineral exploration/development. Up half a cent, or 12.50 per cent, at 4.5 cents on 3,291,967 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. (TSX:CP). Railway. Up 79 cents, or 1.32 per cent, at $60.61 on 552,777 shares. Almost all of its major business segments showed improvements over the same time last year, allowing the railway giant to bring in $1.2 billion in revenue in the second quarter, a 20 per cent increase over a year ago. Net income jumped 23 per cent to $166.6 million.

Enbridge (TSX:ENB). Pipeline. Down $1.02, or 1.98 per cent, at $50.53 on 1,500,090 shares. The Canadian oil and gas pipeline giant said that crews are working to clean up roughly three million litres of oil that spilled into a Michigan river earlier this week.

Husky Energy Ltd. (TSX:HSE). Oil and gas. Down 99 cents, or 3.75 per cent, at %$25.40 on 2,945,758 shares. Second-quarter profit dropped to $266 million, down from a year-earlier $430 million. Sales and operating revenues net of royalties rose to $4.57 billion from $3.92 billion, on higher oil prices.

TMX Group Inc. (TSX:X). Stock exchange operator. Down 57 cents, or 1.94 per cent, at $28.75 on 162,412 shares. Net income for the second-quarter improved two per cent to $47.6 million, while revenue increased by three per cent.

Torstar Corp. (TSX:TS). Media. Down 32 cents, or 3.10 per cent, at $10 on 44,661 shares. The Toronto-based company net income totalled $22.7 million, a vast improvement compared with a loss of $4.4 million in the same year-ago period. Overall revenue edged up to $376.5 million.
